Two of our front windows needed to be replaced because
some kids (I'm assuming) threw something and broke them. The large picture window in the middle, and a smaller double-hung
window to the right were broken. The windows had 2 panes with argon gas in between, so both panes needed to be replaced on
both windows. They were newer (4-years-old) vinyl windows
When I called the first company that I saw on Angie's List,
they never called me back! Then I called LDS and Ronnie answered. He was out to do an estimate the next day, and since he
had gotten good reviews on Angie's List, and was offering a coupon, I just went with him. I thought the price was fair
for what we were needing, but unhappy that I had to spend that much to replace practically new windows! The cost fell under
what our deductible was, so annoying. Anyway, I wrote a deposit check for half the amount and he said the windows would be
done in 3 weeks. He didn't provide a receipt, but an electronic one arrived from his office via email later that day.
Within the 3-weeks, Ronnie called to say the windows were ready, and he came out the next day and installed them within an
hour. He even explained that the windows we had were very slightly too large for the openings, and when the vinyl expanded
and contracted with the weather, it had created small cracks in the vinyl trim. He caulked those up and explained what he
had discovered. He said the new ones he put in were 3/8 inches smaller so that they wouldn't interfere with the outer
trim. He also used slightly thicker glass than what I had originally. I am very pleased with his work, and professionalism.
I would recommend him!

I had windows replaced for fogging. The workmanship
was good and the windows look great. The most important part was the way a disagreement on a repair was handled, I
am happy to say LDS stood behind their work and rectified a small problem without any hassle.

Our large moon window developed
a stress fracture and we called LDS for an estimate to replace the glass. They came out VERY quickly, created a template
since the window wasn't a true 1/2 round, and order the new piece. The new glass was ready when they said it would
be. The installation went smoothly and quickly. Because the old glass was badly cracked, they were afraid it might
shatter as it was being taken out, so they essentially wrapped it to ensure they could protect the furniture that was right
under the window. We have a large wooden cabinet that would not have been easy to move. When the new glass was
installed, they cleaned both sides, inside and out, and they even did some extra caulking on the exterior since water had
been infiltrating to the channel under the old window glass. During the job, they showed me exactly what happened to
crack the old glass and what they'd done to prevent that from happening again.
When they originally came to do the
estimate, I'd forgotten to mention we'd found them on Angie's List, and I didn't realize there was an Angie's
List discount. So imagine my surprise when Ron affirmatively asked me about Angie's List and explained the
discount I'd be getting. He sounded downright excited I'd be saving money, which was very nice (particularly
considering I was saving at his expense - I'd have expected him to be less enthusiastic about it).
And while I like
a good discount, I think I was primarily pleased at how well everything was explained: I was told when the glass fabricator
would pick up the template, about how long it would take to fabricate, and what days the fabricator delivered. During
the installation, they showed me why the old glass broke, and what they were doing to ensure we don't have the same problem
again. They showed me where water was infiltrating under the old glass and what they did to stop it (a bonus since that wasn't
technically the job). And without doing a strong arm sales job, they explained various UV protection coatings which
we ultimately did decide to get.
The glass was ready to install on time, but being between Christmas and New Years,
our holiday schedule made it difficult to find a day to get them in. Since they were out on a job on New Year's
Eve day anyway, they came by that Saturday morning at 9am. We were delighted. They were on time, they were clean,
and they were fast while still being careful. Who can ask for more? We'll be calling them again as we gradually
replace all the old flimsy windows in this place.

LDS responded to call quickly
and came out to inspect my windows and assess the situation. In my condo I have 4 main sets/areas of windows and had issues
with them functioning properly since I purchased the property. Main issue was that I was unable to open some windows (either
hinge was rusted shut or broken on pocket windows or double-hung window wouldn't open/stay open). The guys came out quickly
and came up with a plan to fix all of the windows for a fraction of the cost of new windows (the other option I had considered).
A couple weeks later, allowing time for the custom-made/ordered balancers to be prepared/shipped, they came back and had everything
complete in less than half a day. Now all 12 functioning windows in my condo operate properly vs the occasional window in
the past. No more drafts in the winter and I am looking forward to this spring and summer. Expect to continue working with
LDS to perform regular wellness/maintenance program (recommended every other year).

11/30/2011 Our casement windows needed to be evaluated due
to a home inspection. LDS Renovations, Inc. responded quickly to our service request and checked 22 of our windows before
making their recommendation that we have them perform their Window Wellness program. They provided us with
a quote for the work on the spot and scheduled the work for three days later (the following Monday). The wellness
program revealed the need for a few new parts and a small repair on a bit of rot on one sash. One part was installed
the same day and three of another part were ordered because of the special size. They had the tools and know how
to make the sash repair on the spot. The gentlemen returned as soon as possible to put in the parts and make final
adjustments to a couple of windows. We feel blessed to have found this company on Angie's List. All of the windows open
and close great. While we didn't have anything to compare the price to, we were pleased with the quote and pricing.
LDS Renovations, Inc. were prompt, skilled, and very good people with whom to work. I would recommend them and would
use them again if the need arose.

The Owner,Ronnie,came out to look at an exterior door which was allowing water
to enter underneath during heavy rainstorms.He inspected the door and found the builder(KLM Builders)had left a plastic
block stuck to the underside,causing a gap.Ronnie was very friendly and offered to follow up if there were any more problems.He

10/10/2011 Called Ronnie to get an estimate on repairing 10 windows that needed replacement glass because
they were fogged. A few hours later he came to the house, measured the windows and provided an estimate. I upgraded 6 windows
to Low-E glass because they receive full sun and the room gets extremely warm. Immediately after the installation I could
tell there was a huge improvement in the temperature of the room. I am extremely happy with the result and the glass is
beautiful to look through. Ronnie and his crew were very professional and courteous.

9/29/2011 After having difficulties getting contractors out to quote smaller jobs in the past, I got
a call within minutes of contacting them through Angie's List. We set up a time for the quote. He arrived on time and
I was impressed with Joe and his professionalism. The quote seemed straight forward and reasonable.
After emailing
to say I had selected them for the job, they called the next business day to schedule a time for the work. Eventhough the
weather was less than favorable (all day rain), they arrived on time, set up and got to work. The sill work was a little
worse than originally anticipated. Requiring removing extensive rot, rebuilding the sill and recreating part of the trim.
Once complete you could not tell there had been a repair.
Joe and Mark checked18 windows and hardware--adjusting
and repairing where needed. They now open and close as good as the first day we moved into the newly constructed house.
Some windows had been previously repaired by others but they never worked like this. After a break in the rain and a little
drying off period, Ronnie finished the sill and made sure our skylights were water tight. We were extremely pleased from start to finish. If you need any window work done,
these are the guys to call!!!! These guys are awesome--professional, excellent
craftsmen and all around nice guys.

9/26/2011 The home inspector noted two windows with broken upper sashes. One was part of a pair and
the other was in a set of 4. My fear was we would have to get 6 new windows at a cost north of $5000. I called Ronnie Barnes
at LDS and another top-rated Angie's List provider. I never heard back from the latter, but Ronnie called me within
a couple of hours and came out on a Saturday with Joe T. They told me they could make the needed repairs including replacement
of about 6" of wood rot in the corner of one window. Ronnie and Joe worked efficiently and even repaired a third window
that was slightly sticking. They were in and out of here quickly and charged me only $144. Having been looking at a $5000
bill, needless to say I was pleased, gratified and relieved. Thank you, Ronnie and Joe!

9/19/2011 Ronnie came out promptly to do an estimate. He discussed options with me (I chose a tempered
glass replacement) and did not push any particular option. I was a bit surprised by the expense for a single small window,
but since it's double-pane glass on the second floor I can't really complain too much. The glass had to be ordered;
within a couple of weeks he came back to install it. Ronnie was professional and did a nice quality job. I'd use him
again.

I was referred to LDS from my father-in-law who had about five or six windows replaced.
I called Ronnie and he answered right away and we set up an appointment to view my issues.
Previously I
had people out to look at some of my windows and they tried to sell me all new windows saying they all needed to be replaced,
frames and all. this would only be about $60,000 I was told. I politely threw the guy out of my house.
Ronnie came
over, took the time to explain my options, measured and left. i was emailed the quote for thirteen windows that evening
and was pleasantly surprised.
I obviously pressed ahead with the order, they were delivered a couple weeks later (most
were custom order) and he and two other helpers installed them.
No mess, no damage, the place was made to look like
they were not there.
I highly recommend Ronnie to anyone, very fair, no BS. and, he will not try and sell you something
you dont need.We had a very good experience!

we were unable to open more than a few inches.
Member Comments: We have two very wide sliding doors which would not open more than 3 inches possibly due to
house settling. House was built in 1974. Ronnie Barnes told me he could fix them. this was a nice surprise because we thought
they would need to be replaced which would have been very expensive. Ronnie came and fixed the windows with little problem.
He rescreened the screens as well. I don't think too many people would have been able to do what Ronnie did. We were
very happy with the work and the result!

a foreclosed property, one of the issues that the home inspector pointed out was some wood rot that was occurring on the
front of the house due to improper drainage off of the roof. I had a contractor, recommended by my very trustworthy realtor,
quote the repairs at that time. The workload seemed big enough to be well over a thousand dollars. They quoted it at $600.
That would have been materials, paint, gutter work and siding work. Unfortunely due to scheduling conflicts I had to turn
to Angies List to find a different siding company. I say "had to" because the scheduling conflicts had sent us
a couple of months into spring and I was freaking out every time it rained. I didn't like the idea that my siding was
barely shielding my new house's guts from the weather. So, that's what led me to LDS Renovations Inc.
Ronnie
came out to my house and quoted the repairs at $400. That was without any gutter work. But I was still surprised (pleasantly)
he came in that low. I was getting a friend price from the other contractors so I didn't think it was possible that
I could get similar repairs cheaper.
Ron did excellent work, his price was fair, he was very pleasant and I will
definitely use him again. My one problem with his service was his unintentional bait-and-switch. If he had been more thorough
with his initial inspection he would have noticed the true extent of the wood rot. So when he came out again to do the work,
it didn't take him long to realize he'd made an error in judgement and the price got bumped up to $685 due to increased
workload and materials. Now, if I had been taking bids competively I would have been furious that his price started out
lower and ended up higher than my other contractors' bid (which is why I mentioned them and their price in this review),
but since I was just tired of having a hole in my house I was just happy that the price was fair.
As far as quality
of work, he used great materials and everything seemed well fastened. He pointed out that he had caulked between the boards
to help seal out any moisture from getting behind the top board. Looking at it later I noticed that the caulking did not
completely seal on one end. This was a minor detraction from the quality in my opinion so I clicked "good" instead
of "great".
My only other disappointment was that his repairs didn't include paint. So when he
left I had untreated lumber exposed to the elements. Because it was supposed to rain that evening, and I didn't have
time to put a coat of primer on and have it dry, I ended up having to tape plastic over everything to prevent the wood from
getting ruined its first day on the job as my new siding. Again, I can understand why he didn't paint it, that's
not really his gig, but had I known I would have been better prepared.
So I have mentioned the few issues let
me focus now on the good stuff. Ron and his crew did an exceptional job. Good materials, good craftsmanship, fast. After
we were done he did an inspection of my house and pointed out everything I should fix and how I should fix it. It wasn't
an attempt to solicit business, it was a donation of experience and knowledge to a new homeowner and I really appreciated
it.
So by all means, use him. He's a great guy, honest, fast, well-meaning and proficient at his trade.

rent to a tenant. Ronnie said he could take a look the next day early morning and would call me after he looked at what
needed to be done. When he looked at it he called me and was able to repair it right then and for only $125. I was very happy!
(I did not rate quality above since I have not yet seen the results since this is a rental house that I don't visit

after that. Once I accepted the quote, it took a couple of weeks to get the window manufactured since it was a custom fit.
On the install date, they realized the measurement was transposed wrong and they would have to remake the window. I appreciated
their honesty and apologies and we rescheduled the install for when the new window would be ready. On the new scheduled
install date, they arrived on time (as usual) and were very professional. They took only a few minutes to remove the old
window and put the new one in and they cleaned everything up. At our request, they also adjusted a window in our bedroom
that was not staying open. They did not charge me for that. All in all, they were great. Professional, honest, clean, fast
and the price was right (they took our *****'* list discount).

7/11/2011 Fantastic Service!!!
We had a broken window, and I didn't know where to start. I thought about replacing it, but I have an old house with
older windows that I wanted to keep all the same. I "googled" for window repair and found Service Magic (call
routing company), and asked for 3 window repair companies. The first responder was Ronnie @ LDS. He was very thorough
and said he could have someone look at it the next day. Tim came out and inspected the window, and then explained the process
of how they would fix it which is great. I also had a storm window with a bent frame which Tim said most likely could be
fixed. After special ordering the orange peel frosted privacy glass, Ronnie came back and was able to bend the storm window
frame back, and replace the glass in about 1 hour. Awesome! They're great on communicating with you too. Ronnie always
answers the phone and keeps you in the loop (we had to special order the window, so it took a few days to come in). Very
friendly courteous service. Ronnie also referred me to his Mechanic which helped me out when I had a bind with my car!
5 Stars!!! I will always go back to LDS! It's tough to find honest, reliable service, and LDS takes the cake! Thanks
guys!

6/15/2011 What was originally thought to be a quick & easy job - 1965 era window glass replacement
- soon turned into a job that not many contractors would have completed. LDS and their team of expert installers came to
the rescue and with ingenuity, perseverance and hard work replaced the window glass in a 18 foot - 7 frame bay window. Quotes from several window companies would
have cost 2 to 3 times the amount we paid. The workmanship was professional and the product is impeccible. I would highly

Ronnie came out
and gave an estimate and fixed the window at the time without charge. I paid half up front and he ordered the supplies
and came out on a Sunday and made all the repairs in one day. He replaced
the glass in the garage, caulked around the house. He removed and replaced
the siding and fascia where the deck was attached and replaced the corner pieces. He had a storm
window custom build for our bathroom window. Overall looks much better than it has in years. Ronnie

19 double pane windows in our condo had broken seals and became foggy. LDS
Renovations replaced all 19 window panes in one day. When I called Ronnie Barnes, the owner of the
company, he answered my call immediately and set up an appointment for an estimate the next day. He showed up on time,
explained the process he used to change the window panes and gave us a reasonable estimate. We did not call him back for
about 3 months. When we decided to get the windows fixed. I called him to discuss the project. Once again, he was answered
my call immediately and remembered coming to our place to give the estimate. He came back out a 2nd time to re-measure the
windows to ensure accuracy. We were on a limited time frame. Ronnie assured us that he would be able to install the windows
by the date we needed them done. On the day of installation, he came with 2 assistants and installed the windows in about
3 hours. Once again, he was professional, friendly, efficient and got the job done. I would definitely hire him to complete
more projects for our home.

the late afternoon on Good Friday, the wind had blown my bedroom window off its hinges, damaging the hinges and preventing

afternoon, Dec 12, in response to replacing or repairing a broken upper section of a double hung thermo pane window. He
measured the glass section of the broken window, determined that a new thermo pane glass section could be ordered and installed
within a week and gave us a detailed explanation of what was needed and how he would handle it...and what the price would
be . We told him to proceed and a few days later he called and said he would install the new thermo pane glass on Friday,
Dec. 18, which he did. He did a great job and not only replaced the broken glass but also fixed the lower section of the
double hung window which had previously been jammed. We highly recommend this company. Ronnie Barnes of LDS Renovations was very professional and courteous as well as
quoting a lower price for the work than another glass repair company that had come out to look at the window. The other
company just looked at the window, gave a price and no explanation of what they would do or how long it would take.

came out to Park Ridge on Saturday, Dec 12, examined a broken upper section of a double hung thermo pane window, gave us a
detailed explanation of how the window could be fixed, how long it would take, and the cost for him to do the work. We called
him later on Saturday and told him to proceed. Two days later, he called to tell us that the glass would be ready soon and
that he could complete the repair on Friday, December 18. He and an assistant came out on December 18 as he promised and completed
the repair. Not only did he do an excellent job but he also fixed a jam in the lower section of the window."
