Frosted glass is glass with a frost application used to obscure the view through it while allowing light to pass through it.

While some frosted glass is used for decoration, like around doorways, most frosted glass is used for privacy in bathrooms. If a window is in the bath area or within 60 inches of a stair tread, it is also required by federal building codes to be some type of safety glass like tempered glass.
