Muntins are vinyl grids placed inside thermal pane insulated glass units at the time of manufacture. You cannot add or remove them without ordering a new thermal pane.

They are an aesthetic choice and homeowners typically order them in glass units when they are already present in the property. Muntins serve no practical function in your window.
