Low-E, or a low emissivity treatment is microscopically thin coating applied by a manufacturer to make Low-E glass.

 

It reflects heat and minimizes the amount of ultraviolet and infrared light that can pass through the glass without limiting the light that enters the property.

Clients will order Low-E glass to improve insulation in their home and improve the longevity of the thermal unit's seal.
